At Beetle Doctor Skull Mounts we NEVER boil your skulls! We use dermestid beetles to achieve superb results. When you boil your skull the quality goes down drastically. While cooking, the melted fat soaks into the bone.  This results in greasy yellow skulls. Using beetles eliminates this problem. Boiling is hard on the fine nasal bones.  It can also discolor your rack.  If you have too high of temperature the bones could fall apart entirely.  Our beetles crawl into every nook and cranny eating away all meat and tissue, leaving behind a very clean, fully intact skull.  We then degrease and whiten your skull until it is museum quality white.
